Name: Yotsuki Clan
Kekkei Genkai: Ranton [Storm Release] (Water + Lightning)
The storm release is described as a tactical combination of water and lightning. There are two variations in existence. The first allows the manipulation of storm clouds. This makes for powerful area of attack techniques in which electrified clouds electrocute targets in large scales. The second allows the user to create currents of electricity via liquids. As seen with the 'lightning circuit' technique one can focus lightning through water to create very precise abilities where one is used as a medium for the other, aka storm release.

Name: Thunder Cloud Inner Wave

Description: The shinobi uses Storm Release to generate a thick ring of thunderclouds and electricity around him, creating an offensive and defensive ward. He can then uses these clouds to fire powerful blasts of lightning at his enemies, and as an electrified perimeter; effectively preventing his enemies from getting close.

Description: The user uses his Storm Release to create several bright beams of electricity that shoot at his enemy. A halo of bright energy spreads from Darui's hands as he uses this technique. The beams are able to alter their direction after being shot.

History: This clan is considered to be the only great clan of individuals with a predominantly dark skinned population. It has for many years been the back bone of Kumogakure as its tough natured, hard cores attitude and the very fact that they can control the clouds that surround the village itself! Known as hidden cloud village they can turn the majority of the shrouding clouds into weapon and have not only been a part of the original formation but also one of the many village clans responsible for holding it in place both defending and attacking. The history of the clan as one of the longest existing Advanced Element clans make it known far and wide; especially in Kumogakure. In fact, all previous Raikage are from the Yotsuki clan making it something of an era by era empire.

In current day, all members of Kumogakure look up to the Yotsuki. While not necessarily 'royalty' many of it's members have a large mount of pressure to be powerful, as the main competition for the next Raikage in rank is usually from this clan. Between one of this clan and that of another one will always considered the Yotsuki clan member the favored to win and thus all others are hyped up as the underdog. Some clan relish in this and look to undermine the Yotsuki, while others subservience leads them to remain followers under a leader. Either way, the dynamic ultimately helps the village grow stronger with the friendly rivalry and with the modern militarization of Kumogakure, the Yotsuki have been looked to to set the bar.

Name: Kurayami Clan
Kekkei Genkai: Meiton [Dark Release]
Dark Release is a Yang Element form based on fuuinjutsu. The original 'darkness release' on its own creates voids, or creases in which 'negative space' exists, thus being countered with actual chakra. Assuming chakra is positive, Dark Release creates a negative to cancel it out. It is thus mainly a defensive agent. Though often used on a 1 to 1 basis, meaning that an A-ranked chakra technique could be countered by using the same amount of chakra thus creating no real advantage.

The members of the clan have focused this via fuuinjutsu in that they can use the darkness as a medium for storage and containment of chakra. They can thus 'absorb' any and all ninjutsu form they are with in range of into the fuuinjutsu on their palm. They can then expel this chakra as a pure chakra based attack; breaking a technique down into its bare minimum and storing it. This technique has a capacity, so if one absorbs too much it could be heavily destructive, however otherwise maintains a steady 'immunity' to chakra based techniques.

Name: Dark Release: Inhaling Maw

Element: Dark [Meiton]
Description: The shinobi uses the Dark Release Kekkei Genkai to perform a technique superficially similar to the Chakra Absorption Technique, in order to forcibly extract the physical and spiritual energy of another ninja and absorb it through the upper square of the mark on his left hand. The user can absorb up to an 'A' rank amount of chakra at a time with this technique. After using this ability, Hiruko is able to detect their natural elemental affinity, and then manipulate the victim's chakra and perform ninjutsu.

Name: Dark Release: Judgment

Description: The user converts the chakra absorbed with Dark Release: Inhaling Maw into light blue flames, turning it back on his enemies with amplified strength to blow them away. The flames are expelled through the lower square of the mark on the user's left hand.

History: This clans ability wasn't always in Kumogakure. In fact, they originated in a minor village and was adopted into Lightning Country during their involvement in a past war. While at the time they were seen as a cursed clan whose chakra and release form was made for death and ill omen. Because the made it impossible for others to use ninjutsu with their chakra, they were considered devils and demons, stifling human creation and ability. However, with fuuinjutsu becoming more and more popular within those places with the economy worthy of experimentation, this seemed as though something that could be used in a more universal way. Kumogakure thus bought the clan and they were happy to leave their old country that thought them more of a burden.

Upon arriving in Kumogakure, their abilities were experimented with and augmented with via fuuinjutsu to form a near perfect ninjutsu defense. While they are still considered a minor clan among many others because of how specific their use of technique is, they are quickly becoming known in the hidden village, and by it's many rivals as the secret ninjutsu stopping weapon of the hidden cloud become more and more known and rumored about. With Dark release being tapped into still, it's universal use is still to be discovered; even with so much already known.

Name: Seiryu Clan
Kekkei Genkai: Gravity Release
Gravity Release is a powerful technique mainly involving weight and the displacement of such. It doesn't literally augment gravity but rather, allows one to turn chakra into weight. One can anchor themselves, infuse physical attacks with momentum or increase the weight of objects via touch. In most cases, increases in weight are not felt by the user and so they can beef up physical attacks without effecting speed or dexterity. High levels of use allow the user to, via touch, decrease the relative weight of an object to make something extremely heavy, temporarily light. The clan thus has multiple weapons that are many times heavier then a normal human could use, though in their hands are light as a feather.

Element: Gravity [Gigaton]
Description: This is a powerful technique that is used to amp up physical attacks with gravity release strength, tossing momentum into any physical attack to create a crushing blow from any taijutsu attacks. Not a passive however, as one must focus chakra into weight/momentum with each attack. Over use can easily result in physical and chakra drain.

Element: Gravity [Gigaton]
Description: By turning chakra into weight one can increase ones own weight into the feet, or an object they can hold on to. In this case, they can avoid being pushed or pulled by a physical force, whether it be the push of an opponent or that of a powerful wind techniques etc., It thus allows one to hold their ground where they would normally be repelled.

History: This clan originates in the mountains that kumogakure were built upon and it was thought that they were the mountains original natives. Not at all monk, these people raised mountain cattle upon their peaks and clung to the steep mountain as though it were a day to day activity. It was about 2 years after the formation of Konoha that the Seiryu clan's territory was the best place for building the hidden cloud. Using their architecture to make mounting clinging buildings and sturdy structures on steep slopes, they were able to manifest a village in only a matter of months. The main problem or risk really, is that the clan threaten to lose it's own customs and traditions because of the flood of people massing in one area and while the main part of Kumogakure was built by their architecture, the majority of the houses were made at the base of the mountain where it was more reasonable to place a majority of a population. As a result, the clan stock piled its own things and built its own compound within Kumogakure; continuing to breed mountain cattle.

Their defensive qualities

Name: Yumejiku
Kekkei Genkai: Dream Control
The techniques of this clan allows a specific number of genjutsu involved in controlling the mind while in the state of sleep. They have both illusion and ninjutsu that can force an opponent into a sleeping state and then manipulate their dreams via illusion; literally able to do anything to them as they are asleep. In most cases, the clan member must also be asleep in order to manipulate a sleeping target's dreams. This is used for multiple levels of interrogation, torture, as well as combat.

One can also place themselves under their own technique to consciously control their own dreams. This is known as "Lucid Dreaming" that plays as a simulator of real time and space. Because real time dreams happen very quickly, time can seem to move very slowly while dreaming, allowing for advanced time for simulation training to achieve mastery over a situation; though real life experience is just as important as mental training. All actions in a lucid dream can be adapted to real life, including muscle memory thus techniques learned in the safety of ones dreams are instantly known to the user as they wake. In this state they can often times wake themselves up at will as well.

Another vital ability of the clan is the ability to communicate with bijuu via a jinchuuriki. If a jinchuuriki is put asleep they can enter the subconscious and confront the bijuu themselves. While they can do no harm to the seal, they will be able to converse with the bijuu within the dream state.

Name: Nightmare Syndrome

Description: This is a powerful illusion used upon a sleeping or unconscious opponent. Using this illusion, one can control the aspects of their target's dream as they see fit. However, even in a dream, the pain feels real and will wake an opponent and thus cancel the illusion if the target experiences them in real life or in the dream. In order to do this, one must also be asleep as well.

Name: Feigning Sleep Technique

Description: This ninjutsu forces the user to fall asleep. One can also enter the Nightmare Syndome Illusion through this technique.

History: An old rival of the Yamanaka clan, this clan was the first to be able to manufacture techniques involving the subconscious. While they both looked into the projection of the mind, they took very different forms in which to accomplish this. This clan's ability looked into a direct link into others subconscious, which is done via the dreams and thus by passes the ego of the mind. Like many clan rivalry, they fought on many fronts until eventually one was conquered under the Senju clan's rule. In this sense, and without rival, they could continue to go about their business to make a name for themselves; becoming #1 where they were once #2. However shortly after when Kumogakure was formed, the idea of once again clashing with their old rival was too good to pass up, and like many others that signed away an alliance, they too moved to Lightning country.

Today, they contribute to the espionage and spy programs. Their abilities are also often used to help train people via simulation. Even briefings of situations become easy and quick when one can manipulate the dreams of those who need the information in order to not only example but accurately map out the situation as well. Many were used for torture and methods of interrogation in which those with weak minds could be manipulated and used to gather information in only a matter of seconds. The efficiency of this clan travels much further then JUST combat and as such they can support the village in almost any aspect with their powerful hypnotic illusions.

Name: Hishou Clan
Kekkei Genkai: Falonry Familiar
The Hishou clan are a clan of shinobi that have mastery in the art of training birds of prey. These are either Owls, Hawks or Falcons. Each member usually only has one, though can have up to three. Armed with a bracer on the arm they are known to carry their bird upon their arm. They are known for many techniques involving the use of their bird, including an ability in which they can share site with their birds. This doujutsu like ability allows for multiple perceptions, and by having their bird fly over an area, they can survey entire areas with ease, or just have a different vantage point for watching opponents in battle.

They area also well versed in the use of bow's, and use long distance/ long range battle in which they use their bird to spy on opponents as they attack form unseen areas.
Secret Clan Jutsu:

Name: Falonry Eye

Type: Ninjutsu
Element: N/A
Description: This is a technique in which one shares a line of sight with their avian familiar. With it they can effectively gain a second line of site. The Falcon must stay withing 1km of the user in order to make use of this technique, and drains a 'C' rank amount of chakra per post in order to use.

History: This is another clan native of Lightning Country and before the formation of kumogakure were spread far though the mountain ranges from north to south. There were multiple 'tribes' that were seemingly nomadic; establishing homes and villages then traveling between them to avoid run ins with opposing clans during the many wars. They lived among the many bird species that lived at such altitudes and it wasn't too long until their life styles began to blend. Upon finding a powerful bond the clan members and its avian familiars helped each other survive. The birds sent messages between the many tribes helping them co-ordinate, as well as watch over vast areas of territory. They survived by hiding in large part, but it was surviving none the less.

When Kumogakure came together, the nomadic territories grew smaller and smaller. Until there was no where else to go. The remaining tribes banded together. They were eventually discovered, however the Kumogakure state wasn't hostile. It wasn't too long until the tribe had to be adopted into Kumogakure as a clan on friendly terms as otherwise they would have to be monitored. In a world where territory was being drawn and people had to choose sides, the members of the Hishou Clan hard to pick the side of the country they originally belong to. It ended up being a positive relationship in the long run, however, as they had many opportunities in Kumogakure and over time any bad blood eventually fizzled out.
