Dark Release is a Yang Element form based on fuuinjutsu. The original 'darkness release' on its own creates voids, or creases in which 'negative space' exists, thus being countered with actual chakra. Assuming chakra is positive, Dark Release creates a negative to cancel it out. It is thus mainly a defensive agent. Though often used on a 1 to 1 basis, meaning that an A-ranked chakra technique could be countered by using the same amount of chakra thus creating no real advantage.

The members of the clan have focused this via fuuinjutsu in that they can use the darkness as a medium for storage and containment of chakra. They can thus 'absorb' any and all ninjutsu form they are with in range of into the fuuinjutsu on their palm. They can then expel this chakra as a pure chakra based attack; breaking a technique down into its bare minimum and storing it. This technique has a capacity, so if one absorbs too much it could be heavily destructive, however otherwise maintains a steady 'immunity' to chakra based techniques.

-Out of battle

As Raikage, Yuzu is typically a very focused individual. When the village needs her, the Raikage in her always steps in and makes the difficult decisions without hesitation. Sacrificing lives is a certainty when running a village as large as Kumogakure, but the feelings for each ninja never change. Yuzu keeps up with names once she meets her ninja, and meets the families of those killed on missions. Her caring side often gets in the way of her time management, which gets her aid flustered, but Yuzuki makes time for such things. Respect is something that Yuzu takes more seriously. Until she specifies that it is a time for her subordinates to call her by her first name or a nickname, they are expected to keep focused on the task at hand, calling her Raikage-sama. However, during off times, Yuzuki can be a very fun individual, drinking and merrymaking with friends. She has a sense of humor, but her job requires she take things seriously when on duty.

Yuzu is also a very structured woman. She follows the path of the thunder god, and visits the Thunder God Shrine often, even praying on her Thunder God's Eye necklace. Many of her Lightning jutsu and her own armor/swords reflect the loyalty to him. The village has always been in tune to the lightning god, but under Yuzuki, the religion has made its way back to the forefront of culture in Kumogakure.

-In battle

In battle, Yuzuki begets all mercy, aiming to utterly defeat opponents, while leaving them alive. If this means maiming them, or causing permanent damage, then so be it. They made themselves enemies of Kumogakure, and they are treated as such. Yuzu keeps a cool head and thinks logically, considering her moves and the moves of others like chess while attacking. Letting her guard down is something that Yuzuki does not do on the battlefield. Even if she has already won a battle. Yuzu remains on edge until the ninja are safely back to the village. Death on the battlefield is saddening, but must be ignored until the battle has been decided. Yuzuki hates to have losses, but knows that there will be losses and prepares herself for them. Overall, she has a very battle ready personality, despite her caring nature for her comrades.

-Habits

Yuzuki doesn't have many quirky habits, but every other day, she visits Raijin's temple. When frustrated with the world and everything going on around her, she will head to the Mystic Waterfall outside the village to meditate on what has been occurring. This refocuses her and she returns much better than when she left. Yuzuki also likes to bring wrath upon people that enter her room without knocking and waiting for permission. She sees this as an act of great disrespect unless there is a very good reason given. When busy, Yuzu likes to bide her time by stretching and cracking her joints. This feels good, and wastes time. Yuzuki also tends to look people over and make some judgments by their looks. She knows this is wrong, but does it anyway.
